When I first started putting stuff up on Smashwords for download, I was conflicted because of the fact that much of it has been on offer around here for a while now and, of course, free of charge. I felt a certain guilt at the idea of even asking for a nominal fee of $0.99 for a story and have thus far only asked a price for anything that features an entirely new piece in amongst older stories.
But now a part of me is wondering if I've made a mistake of confusing my pre-existing audience around here with the potential one out there in the wider wilds of the internet. I've had large numbers of downloads on the stuff that I've been offering for free and by contrast quite few on the title that's only available for actual purchase.
I worry that I may inadvertently have given the impression that I'm not serious and that I undervalue my work. So as a result I'm considering asking $0.99 for an individual story, regardless of its age. On the other hand, I'm also weighing up the notion of making such freebie previews available for the period of a month and then beginning to charge for them after that time.
I'd seriously appreciate any thoughts and comments that people have on this matter.

Seriously, now I can't submit stories!
As if the changes made to this place weren't bad enough already, now I find that, when I go to submit a new story, there's no option to upload text. No problem, I think, I'll just use a PDF version of the file instead. Not everyone seems to be able to read them on here, and it's a bit more of a hassle, but at least some people will get to see it. But then I find that I need to submit a preview image to then submit the PDF file, yet when I try to do so, the site just ignores the files that I try to use. So if you want to know or care at all about why I haven't posted anything around here recently, DA just gave me another very good reason to think twice before I try to do so again. The changes were one thing, but this place used to be a quick and relatively easy forum on which to share my work. The aims of the people in charge seems to be the wish to make this site no longer viable for me to use in that way - which makes me sad, as it's been an important part of my being able to reach
How in the hell does DA even work now?
I'll admit that I've been away from here for a while now, popping in whenever I had the time to do so. And as a result of my absence, the news that DA was switching to a new format was not something that I could properly digest. But having just tried to use my account for the first time in a while, I have say that I've got no idea how these changes make anything better or even allow me to continue to use my account at all. Navigation seems to make no sense, search results can't be effectively filtered any more, notifications are now apparently a permanent thing, and I can't add a single thing in my notification list to my favourites any longer. In short, these changes have made DA almost useless to me now, and I'm wondering what the point of even trying to get back into the swing of posting around here would even be. Is there any help out there?
Social Distancing means Distanced Socialising...
I'm sorry to have been absent from DA for a while now, but the world just seems to be conspiring against me when it comes to my online presence in places like this. I don't need to mention how weird and unfamiliar things are for all of us right now, but I do want to assure anyone that's interested in my work that these are the main reasons for me being less than active on here recently. I have not deliberately scaled back what I'm doing and posting on DA, and I still have a number of private commissions in the works or circling the airport that my workload resembles right now.
Currently I'm juggling the realities of social distancing, home-w

Depending on the subject of the story and its length, I'd be willing to pay more than $2.99. I consider your writing professional and I wouldn't ask for a discount based on the quality of writing, as I would with just about every other erotica author.
I'd say $0.99 to $1.49 is fair for a short story of 15-20 pages, and $4.99 for 100 pages. I think it's a good idea that stories can be purchased individually. For example mermaids and centaurs aren't interesting to me, and I'd rather pay for something I really like.
Have you given thought to doing commissions where one can pay to influence certain parts of the story, like what the object of transformation changes to, the speed and extent of the tf, characters etc? Perhaps add a side character to a longer story? Naturally within the boundaries of what you're comfortable writing.
How much would you ask for a full commission of say 20 pages? I assume the number would depend on how much it would diverge from your usual writing and how popular you project it would be with other readers...
