Wow, it's been a while.
The past few months seem to have passed by in the blinking of an eye and there's been little time for doing anything other than dabbling in the short pieces that have been posted in that time and exchanging notes with the other Deviants around these parts with whom I have a close rapport.
Real life has been frantic at times (who would have thought that professional wrestling could make such demands upon the finite hours of the day?), but I feel as though I've been at least able to keep my hand in with these shorter pieces and explore some ideas that I never really felt justified a longer story for various reasons.
The latest has been posted today and ventures into a region of TF conventions that I'd previously been avoiding on purpose, that of instant or "puff of smoke" transformations.
All too often one comes across this quickest of means being abused in order for the writer to get to the point in the narrative in which they are solely interested, ignoring any need for building a character and setting the stage.
But there was an advertising campaign a few years back in which individuals were doled out instant karmic payback for abusing the product in question, and this came in the form of transformation into an appropriate form, literally in a puff of smoke. The idea stuck in my head and as these "literary sketches" are shorter in nature, it seemed an ideal place to explore kind of TF.
As always, I'm interested in heating what people think and any ideas that you might have for future stories.

Seriously, now I can't submit stories!
As if the changes made to this place weren't bad enough already, now I find that, when I go to submit a new story, there's no option to upload text. No problem, I think, I'll just use a PDF version of the file instead. Not everyone seems to be able to read them on here, and it's a bit more of a hassle, but at least some people will get to see it. But then I find that I need to submit a preview image to then submit the PDF file, yet when I try to do so, the site just ignores the files that I try to use. So if you want to know or care at all about why I haven't posted anything around here recently, DA just gave me another very good reason to think twice before I try to do so again. The changes were one thing, but this place used to be a quick and relatively easy forum on which to share my work. The aims of the people in charge seems to be the wish to make this site no longer viable for me to use in that way - which makes me sad, as it's been an important part of my being able to reach
How in the hell does DA even work now?
I'll admit that I've been away from here for a while now, popping in whenever I had the time to do so. And as a result of my absence, the news that DA was switching to a new format was not something that I could properly digest. But having just tried to use my account for the first time in a while, I have say that I've got no idea how these changes make anything better or even allow me to continue to use my account at all. Navigation seems to make no sense, search results can't be effectively filtered any more, notifications are now apparently a permanent thing, and I can't add a single thing in my notification list to my favourites any longer. In short, these changes have made DA almost useless to me now, and I'm wondering what the point of even trying to get back into the swing of posting around here would even be. Is there any help out there?
Social Distancing means Distanced Socialising...
I'm sorry to have been absent from DA for a while now, but the world just seems to be conspiring against me when it comes to my online presence in places like this. I don't need to mention how weird and unfamiliar things are for all of us right now, but I do want to assure anyone that's interested in my work that these are the main reasons for me being less than active on here recently. I have not deliberately scaled back what I'm doing and posting on DA, and I still have a number of private commissions in the works or circling the airport that my workload resembles right now.
Currently I'm juggling the realities of social distancing, home-w
